FAQ Answer

Platform and Account

What is two-factor authentication and why should I use it?

Two-factor authentication adds a second verification step beyond your password, making it harder for an attacker to access your account with stolen credentials.

Answer

Two-factor authentication, or 2FA, requires two separate forms of verification before access to an account is granted. The first factor is usually your password. The second may be a temporary code, security key or trusted-device confirmation, depending on the options supported by the platform.

Common second factors include:

  • Codes generated by an authenticator application
  • Physical hardware security keys
  • Verification prompts on a trusted device
  • Email or SMS codes, where supported

2FA matters because passwords can be exposed through phishing, reused credentials, malware or data breaches. If an attacker obtains your password, the additional factor can still prevent access to your Senpero account.

When choosing a method, use an authenticator application or hardware security key when available. Store recovery codes offline in a secure location and do not keep the only copy on the same device used for authentication.

Never share a 2FA code or approve an unexpected authentication request. Senpero support and legitimate vendors should not ask you to reveal a current code.

If you lose access to your authentication method, use a saved recovery code or Senpero’s official account-recovery process. Never provide your wallet’s private key or recovery phrase to recover a platform account.
