FAQ Answer

Payments and Fiat Transfers

Can a bank transfer be reversed after a crypto trade?

Some bank transfers can be cancelled, returned, recalled or disputed after being sent. The risk depends on the payment network, transfer status, bank rules, jurisdiction and reason for the reversal.

Answer

Yes, a bank transfer may sometimes be cancelled, returned, recalled or adjusted after it is initiated. This does not mean every completed bank transfer can be reversed on demand. The outcome depends on the payment network, transfer status, participating banks, jurisdiction and reason for the request.

Common situations include:

  • Scheduled or pending transfer: The sender may be able to cancel it before execution.
  • Rejected or returned transfer: Incorrect account details, compliance checks or receiving-account restrictions may cause the funds to be returned.
  • Bank recall: The sending bank may request the return of a transfer because of fraud, duplication or a technical error. A recall request does not guarantee that the money will be returned.
  • Unauthorized-payment investigation: A bank may investigate a transfer reported as unauthorized and take action under the applicable rules.

A bank-transfer recall is not the same as a card chargeback. Do not describe every payment dispute as a chargeback.

Before releasing cryptocurrency, the seller should:

  1. Access the receiving account through the bank’s official app or website.
  2. Confirm the full amount, currency, sender details and payment status.
  3. Reject third-party payments when the payer does not match the authorized counterparty.
  4. Avoid relying on screenshots, notifications or payment receipts.
  5. Keep the order chat, bank record and transaction details.

Seeing funds in the account is an essential verification step, but it cannot eliminate every later recall or fraud risk. Sellers should understand the rules of each payment method they accept.

If a transfer is removed or disputed after the cryptocurrency was released, preserve all evidence, contact the bank immediately and report the issue through Senpero’s dispute or support process. The blockchain release cannot simply be reversed because the fiat payment was later challenged.
