FAQ Answer
Selling Crypto
Can I cancel a P2P sale if the buyer does not pay?
A P2P sale may be cancelled if the buyer does not pay within the allowed period. Cancellation depends on the order status, so never release the cryptocurrency while payment remains unconfirmed.
Answer
You may be able to cancel a P2P sale when the buyer has not paid within the permitted payment period. Whether cancellation is available depends on the order’s current status and the controls shown on the trade page.
If the buyer has not paid:
- Check the payment deadline. The buyer may still be within the time allowed by the order.
- Contact the buyer inside the trade. Ask whether the payment was submitted and keep the conversation attached to the order.
- Check your receiving account. Do not rely only on the order status, notifications or messages from the buyer.
- Keep the cryptocurrency in escrow. Never release it while the payment remains unconfirmed.
- Cancel through the order controls. Use the cancellation option only when it becomes available and no unresolved payment claim exists.
- Confirm the outcome. Verify that the cancellation completed and that the cryptocurrency was returned or made available according to the escrow transaction.
Do not cancel an order if the payment has actually arrived. Likewise, if the buyer marked the order as paid or provided evidence of a transfer that has not yet appeared, do not release the cryptocurrency or attempt to resolve the issue outside Senpero. Preserve the evidence and use the dispute process when available.
A delayed payment and a missing payment are not always the same. Bank transfers and payment services may process transactions outside their expected timeframes. Keep the order unresolved until the payment status is clear, especially when the buyer claims the transfer was completed.
